3 Essential FlashForward Websites

I owe you a complete Comic-Con recap of the FlashForward panel, as well as photos and videos from behind the scenes! Stay tuned for that very shortly.

In the meantime...I have been very impressed by the viral marketing campaign already in full force for the series. There are so many interactive elements at play that I hesitate to label it an ARG (alternate reality game) at this point.

Here are the three essential FlashForward related sites that I recommend you bookmark and monitor:

This is the main site that asks "What did you see?" and allows you to share your own flashforward. It appears as if they will compile answers from both this site and those given at the Comic-Con Mosaic Collective booth to piece together a world map to retrace steps during the GBO (Global Blackout). In addition, there is a site called Join The Mosaic, but as of right now there is no content.

This is the official site and message board of the creative team, sponsored by showrunner David S. Goyer. Lost fans will recognize the format; it is quite similar in style and function to The Fuselage.

This is the site of investigative journalist Oscar Obregon, a fictional reporter seeking answers about the GBO. This is obviously an ABC site, but a well produced effort nonetheless. He has already posted videos from Comic-Con and his 'office,' including a phone call with Detective Benford (Joseph Fiennes). You can also follow him on Twitter.

And So it Begins: FlashForward in Fall

Welcome to Flashing Forward, a site dedicated to the new ABC series FlashForward. The show is slated to debut this fall and air in the 8pm time slot on Thursday nights before Grey's Anatomy.

Back in December, Jace at Televisionary posted a first look at the pilot script of FlashForward. If you want to get an early start on the spoiler-free front, then be forewarned that his preview contains plot point spoilers.

In a nutshell...the series examines what happens when the world becomes unconscious for 2 minutes and 17 seconds, and what people see when they are able look six months into their future during that 2:17.

The show is based on Robert J. Sawyer's book of the same name, which I just ordered and look forward to reading. Get a jump start yourself; order a copy
here.

The cast includes Joseph Fiennes (Shakespeare in Love), Sonya Walger (Lost), John Cho (Star Trek), Courtney B. Vance (Law & Order: Criminal Intent) and Bryan F. O'Byrne (Brotherhood).
The executive producers of FlashForward only add to my interest in this show; David S. Goyer wrote the film Jumper and also co-wrote the story for both Batman Begins and The Dark Knight, and Brannon Braga is a writer/producer on 24 (not to mention Star Trek: The Next Generation, Voyager and Enterprise).

I'm not looking for a replacement when Lost ends; I am highly skeptical that any television programming in the near future is capable of achieving that level of stellar production and creative quality week after week, season after season. However, I am intrigued enough by the premise of FlashForward that it merits a new site to follow the show's progress, previews, news, reviews, etc.
